Previously a ring of three was in the tower which was hung in a wooden frame. It is not known when the ring was last rung full circle but the bells were chimed in the early 1970's for services by Mr T. Waters.
The oldest bell could not leave the tower and is now used at the clock bell statically rehung in a steel frame by Dick Dale.
The remaining two bells were sold to Coleshill for £590 to supply metal for their augementation to 10 bells in 1978.

Bell inscriptions
Taken in 1977 before the bells were installed in the tower by David Howell and used as part of the display to raise money to complete the installation.
The old 1612 bell now used as the clock bell is at the top then the bells appear in order down to the tenor, with the fourth and five out of order. The inscriptions of course refer to the Hampton in Arden church as the bells were cast in 1725 for this parish.

Inscriptions of the bells as depicted below. The © symbol represents the image of a George 1 gold 2 guinea piece pressed into the moulding which is particularly clear in the second bell. Note that bell founders were often illiterate and were working in mirror image so often made mistakes such as SIH being backwards - mistakes which cannot be corrected without a complete recast!
